In November 2002 Emma Jansen and her mother Pam Jansen opened Ballarat patchwork. Pam is no longer a partner in the business, but coordinates the classes and teaches beginner patchwork and quilting.

Emma’s background as a textile designer is apparent in the many patterns now available from Ballarat patchwork, as well as the wonderful array of fabulous fabrics. These fabrics are from such designers as Kaffe Fassett, Amy Butler and Prints Charming, as well as an interesting selection of 1930s reproduction fabrics. The shop is literally overflowing with wonderfully bright fabrics, including a large selection of spots and stripes.

We run regular beginner classes in our large bright classroom, and other tutors teaching at Ballarat Patchwork include Trish Harper and Kellie Wulfsohn who provide exciting projects for the more adventurous patchworker.

Ballarat Patchwork has grown enormously since opening and we now have a large variety of patterns for quits, soft toys and some clothing, and books galore to inspire you. We also provided all your quilting and patchwork need including a large range of batting on the roll, including Hobbs and Matilda’s Own.

Recently we have introduced Signature Threads to our stock and large range of Perle 8 cotton Threads, both excellent products.

We are a “specialist” patchwork shop and we look forward to helping you in your fabric selection or quilting project.
