I got a little carried away and made a few Dilberts (made by Melly & Me) for christmas presents this year. Some of them had already been given away, so i only had six to phototgraph. I made a total of 11 Dilberts, a very easy pattern but i won’t be making any more in the near future!
One of my mother’s friends wanted to make a quilt for one her friend’s birthday. So mum designed a lovely medallion style quilt and Christine was our guinea pig! The pattern works which is good to know, and mum and I have started making our version out of the fabrics that I designed for Max New, “Sweet Daze”. I think we have one border to go on that one so we should have pictures soon!
We just had to put this apron up on the blog. It was too late to be judged with the other two but we had to share. This apron has been made by one of our regular customers, Jan. She used a Butterick apron pattern, size 3.
The Little doll pattern is a Rosalie Quinlan Pattern. She said she bought the pattern 5 years ago to make in her old age, but she needed 2 aspros for the arthritis and half a bottle of Kahula to finish the doll.
The little scottie dog is from Allsorts and the sun hat is from sewing.about.com
The little hankie is Jan’s from about 1964 when she was 8. She has the whole set from Monday to Sunday.
I hope she doesn’t mind me sharing parts of her letter with you, but I think it completes the story. Thankyou so much for sending it in. It is hanging in the middle of the shop and is getting lots of interest!

One of our customers recently bought a set of our Japanese Charm squares and decided to make the free pattern we give away with the squares. A very simple quilt showcasing the stunning Japanese Fabrics!

One of our lovely customers has finished the Block of the Month we did a couple of years ago. It is a design by Rosalie Quinlan, called “I remember“. Mishelle made it for her daughter Abi’s 3rd birthday. I am very jealous as mine is still at quilt top stage!
Just thought that I would share some new quilt designs with you. All will be patterns and kits available from Ballarat Patchwork. All are quite simple quilts but I think they work because of the beautiful fabric. The chocolate mint squares quilt is actually made from my fabric range that I designed for Max New called Sweet Daze. It was very exciting making a quilt from my own fabrics. We have another still in the piecing stage which has a beautiful applique centre and then lots of pieced borders. Should have some photos of that later in the week.
