The winner and some sewing stuff….

And the winner is………….

Katherine Says:Congratulations on your 1ooth post! This is my first visit thanks to the link on here from Thornberry. I will be bookmarking and visiting here again.I love Kaffe Fassett fabrics and would be thrilled to win the lovely ones in your giveaway.

So please email us Katherine and we will put your fabric in the mail!

I am currently in a friendship block swap with my local patchwork GroupĀ Ballaraat Quilters Inc. This block is from Liz Dyer and she is also getting member to make red and white blocks too. I forgot to photograph the first 4 blocks, but will try to remember from now on.

The next quilt is for my cousin’s partner Jacquie. I have used old reproduction florals, vintage toiles and lots of checks, stripes and spots. The design is from Judy Turner and her bento box quilt. I have enlarged the blocks to 3″ x 6″ to show off the beautiful fabrics. The finished block size is 12″, and I am planning to make 49 blocks.

The was a range of fabrics released recently called Flutterby by Tula Pink, Moda. I love these fabrics but we couldn’t order them as we had already ordered too much that month. So instead I treated myself and ordered a fat quarter pack of the full range. They arrived the other day and I can’t stop playing with them. I think I am going to design a Mariner’s Compass, or New York Beauty quilt.

The fabrics all have some sort of bug or insect. They are really beautiful and I just love the rich colours. Stunning.

I have also been sewing a border for my log cabin quilt, lots and lots of strips

Another friend turn 30 recently and I promised her a quilt years ago. I am up to the quilting stage and I am planning on crosshatching the whole quilt top in about a 4″ grid.

She’s cute but she looks like she could talk a mouth full of truck if she needed to.
