Black & White Drunkards Path

Friday, October 24th, 2008

A while ago I mentioned that I was making a black and white quilt for a wedding present. Well I have finally finished the quilt top. Now all I have to do is quilt the large thing. I made it using Victorian Textile’s 81/2″ Drunkards Path template and their new 41/4″ template. We should have the smaller templates in stock shortly. ——– UPDATE: 4.25 inch templates now in stock——

Charming Squares

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Charming Squares has been one of our most popular quilts. Such a simple quilt showcasing Amy Butler’s fabric at their best. I just love her fabrics and I think this quilt makes them look even better. The white tone on tone stripe sashing just sets them off.

I just had a customer come in and ask for a pack in this quilt so I got busy cutting. I have made a lovely pack up in Amy Butler’s new fabric range Daisy Chain and a few other fabrics from her older ranges. Thats one thing I love about Amy’s fabrics – they all work back together!

I think these fabrics will look fabulous made up in a charming squares quilt.

Echidna Pincushion

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Isn’t this the nicest pincushion? Thanks so much to Janelle who has kindly sent down her mascot to stay for a while in Ballarat Patchwork. I was lucky enough to get my own smaller version to keep and I just love him! Janelle has kindly offered to give us the pattern to pass onto you. Let me know if you are interested in getting a copy!

Grandmother’s Braid

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

I have finished my grandmother’s braid quilt using a Recess Jelly Roll. I just love these fabrics and I think they look great in this pattern. It was very easy to cut as the Jelly Rolls are exactly the right width. If you are interested in the pattern they will be ready shortly. Just a little re-write needs to be done. Please send us an email if you would like one info@ballaratpatchwork.com.au

T-shirt Ideas

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

With all the lovely fabric that has come into the shop it was time to make some t-shirts. Too easy.  Just stick the fabric image onto the t-shirt (we used vsliesofix) and then machine button hole around the edges. This could be done with so many of the larger prints that are available at the moment.

Ballyhoo

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

Ballyhoo has come to stay. He was one of the joint winners in our Mascot Challenge. We think he is just lovely and he seems to be settling in quite well! Thank you Amy for letting him come and stay!
