I was involved in the As You Like It Swap, hosted by the wonderful Trash.
We had to choose some words to help our swap partner put together our parcel.
My words were Vintage, Green & Bling.
and here is what I got……
my vintage bling, what a stunning brooch.
some lovely trims on vintage spools
a frame piece of sewing, I’ve been meaning to put one of these together…
now I don’t have to. Straight to the Pool Room I say!
and the most beautiful needle holder I have ever seen.
I love things with the letter E, most people know I wear
an E around my neck every day, so this is just perfect.
And you might have noticed the fabric in the background of all
these photos. A large piece of stunning vintage fabric.
this is going to be saved for something really special.
So thank you Trash for organising the as you like it swap,
and thank you Sarah for being the
best swap partner ever.
We have had more new arrivals – there is so much new fabric in the shop at the moment!
More beautiful fabric from Nani Iro.
This fabric is a double weave cotton and is just so soft.
It is also the fabric we used to make the Shearwater Kaftan.
Fabulous new fabrics from Enchino.
Great for bags, covering a chair….now there’s a thought.
These fabrics are printed on the heavier cotton/linen mix.
How cute is this fabric?,
and this fabulous border print, both from Kokka.
and I got a present……….. from my swap partner Sarah
Today we had a big box arrived filled with cuteness.
Ooshka Babushka Pattern Kits and Sweetie Petites.
These designs are from The Red Thread.
Make your own babushka dolls. Ooshka pattern kits are a fun and easy sewing project. They contain a sewing pattern and instructions and a face panel printed on linen/cotton blend fabric.
You get to choose your own fabrics for your Ooshkas – they aren’t included in the pattern kit – that’s part of the fun! So is embellishing your babushka dolls with applique, pom poms, ribbons and trim.
You can also choose to make your Ooshka with black hair and blue or brown eyes, blonde hair and blue eyes, or she can be a redhead with green/aqua eyes. The pattern kit comes with the face panel of your choice. Additional printed face panels are also available for purchase.
There are also patterns included to make scarves for your Ooshkas and appliqued felt and fabric faces.
The we have the adorable Sweetie Petites.
Meet Mimi, Molly, Daisy & Ginger… and Freddie – the Sweetie Petites.
Sweetie Petites doll kits contain all you need to make a Sweetie and their little friend: printed fabric panels, stuffing, ribbon loops and sewing instructions. Each one has her name printed on the back
and a little note for their new owner.
The Sweeties can be sewn by hand or machine and are an ideal project for a beginner, or for an adult to make with a child.
The design of these little cute little dolls has been influenced by vintage and Japanese kawaii styles. They appeal to all ages, from toddlers to pre-teens and even adults who like to collect fun and quirky things.
We would like to welcome Dee Dee and Clucky,
two patterns from Melly & Me of course.
Dee Dee the dolphin

We also have a sample of the Shearwater Kaftan
from Make it Perfect.
Thanks Sarah!
I have a few too many books in the shop at the moment.
Come and help me clear some space and get
20% OFF ALL BOOKS

We received a big bundle of Michael Miller fabrics today.
and this is my new bestest fabric…. well for this week anyway.
I also love the name - ‘Bite Me’
This past Saturday we had Kellie from Don’t Look Now, teaching her fabulous raw edge applique and free motion quilting class.
The clever students showing off their work
Kellie hard at work, showing how it’s done.
Watching Kellie, she makes it look soooo easy!
one of the students work
(sorry can’t remember who did this one or the next)
We wil be running some more classes with Kellie but
not until next year due to renovations on the class room
and back of the shop.
