Echidna Pincushion

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Isn’t this the nicest pincushion? Thanks so much to Janelle who has kindly sent down her mascot to stay for a while in Ballarat Patchwork. I was lucky enough to get my own smaller version to keep and I just love him! Janelle has kindly offered to give us the pattern to pass onto you. Let me know if you are interested in getting a copy!

Drunkards Path Quilt

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

One of my lovely customers came in yesterday and brought show and tell. A stunning drunkards path quilt made out of Kaffe Fassett fabrics and many others. I just love the colour combination. Must put this one on the list of things to do! Congratulations Lee on a stunning quilt, can’t wait to see the 2nd one finished and also the 3rd!

Memories of Kaffe Fassett

Monday, August 11th, 2008

Suzanne Lyle, the designer of “Memories of Japan”, the quilt I wrote about a couple of posts ago, has made another quilt. This time using our Kaffe Fassett Fat 1/8th packs. It shows just how fantastic this design is that it will work with any fabrics so successfully.

Kaffe Fassett Friendship Quilt

Friday, August 8th, 2008

I had to take a photo of this beautiful quilt today. It has been made by Liz, a member of Ballaarat Quilters all out out Kaffe Fassett shot cottons, checks and stripes. This is Liz’s friendship quilt, so she asked members to make four 4″ squares using any pattern that you like. My Mum actually came up with the idea but hasn’t got around to putting her quilt together. She says she is a little busy with the long list of things I am getting her to help me finish. Mum is planning on sashing hers separately, with just a denim colour. I love the way Liz has put the four blocks together, grouping them with the lovely teal fabric as sashing.

Memories of Japan Quilt

Friday, August 1st, 2008

One of our talented quilt group members, Suzanne Lyle, designed this wonderful quilt. After much encouragement from the patchwork group she has released it as a pattern. It is such a simple, yet stunning design that showcases the fabrics beautifully.

Star Sampler Class – finished results

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

My mother Pam has just finished another 9 week beginners class. We are very impressed with this group, most of them got to complete their quilt top. I love seeing this quilt made in different colours and fabrics, and it always seems to look fantastic!

I Spy

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

I had to take a photo of this quilt made by one of our lovely customers Dot. It is the I Spy quilt designed once again by Trish Harper of Design House Quilts.

A lovely quilt and some news…….

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

One of our talented customers Kerry, has completed our Vintage Spice quilt using the brighter Ginger Bliss fabrics from Amy Butler. These fabrics are a number of years old now but I still think that they are lovely.

And in other news my Mother and I (after much stressing and ummming and arrring) have decided to sell the shop. Lots of reasons probably the main one being my health at the moment. So if you would like to buy a patchwork shop check it out here!

Large Drunkards Path Quilt

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

One of our customers came into the shop today and she brought a quilt along for show and tell. She bought the templates and fabric at the AQC last year, 2007. The fabric range is Lotus by Amy Butler and the templates are made by Victorian Textiles. This quilt style always amazes me – it always looks good!
