Beautiful Blue and White

Friday, December 21st, 2007

One of my mother’s friends wanted to make a quilt for one her friend’s birthday. So mum designed a lovely medallion style quilt and Christine was our guinea pig! The pattern works which is good to know, and mum and I have started making our version out of the fabrics that I designed for Max New“Sweet Daze”. I think we have one border to go on that one so we should have pictures soon!

Finished!

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

One of our lovely customers has finished the Block of the Month we did a couple of years ago. It is a design by Rosalie Quinlan, called “I remember“. Mishelle made it for her daughter Abi’s 3rd birthday. I am very jealous as mine is still at quilt top stage!

Dresden Plate

Friday, September 14th, 2007

We have a very bright Dresden Plate quilt which we sell as a kit and pattern and have also had a class. The quilt was originally made for the Ballaarat Quilters Inc Christmas Challenge. The challenge was to use all spotty fabric, which I did including the binding and backing.

This quilt was completed in our class by Kathleen Beer. Such a fresh, bright quilt. As you know I am a fan of pink and aqua. so I think it looks fantastic!

Baltimore Beauty

Friday, September 14th, 2007

A few years ago we ran a class called the Baltimore Wallhanging Quilt. We still sell this pattern and has been a very popular quilt for us over the years. It was designed by Emma, sewn by Barbara Matheson and quilted beautifully by Elizabeth Zabinski. Just recently one of our customers sent us a photo of her finished Baltimore Wallhanging. We love the dark background, it changes the whole look of the quilt. Congratulations to Sally, a very beautiful quilt!

Beginner Star Sampler Quilts

Friday, August 24th, 2007

We have just finished our first set of classes teaching the Star Sampler. We are very impressed with their committment to getting the quilt top pieced. This means quite a bit of homework but how wonderful do they look.

Beginner’s Quilts

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

Just had to put these on to show everyone. We are always very pleased when our beginners get to the quilting stage, because it usually means they will finish! These two were made in our sailboat cot quilt class, but they didn’t want to make the boats as they wanted the quilt to be unisex. I love the sawtooth star, such a simple pattern, but always looks so effective. The green stars were completed by Faith Austin and the yellow and blue by Danielle Haynes.

Beautiful Cushion

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

One of our talented customers, Karen Pior, made this stunning cushion using one of Amy Butler’s fabrics as the feature panel. Such a simple design but made beautiful with the fabrics used! I want to make some new cushions for my couch now!
