Mum has finished the sewing bag we are teaching later on in the year.
It is made using Prints Charming hand screen printed motifs.
We still have place in the class, so call if you are interested!
Some lovely new patterns, Jack & Jill designed by Heather Bailey.
This is an adorable lunch bag made out of the laminated fabric.
Too Cute.

Another new one from Amy Butler called
the Charm Clutch.
A sweet little felt book,
Fa la la la Felt.
Some great new polka dot backings.

What a wonderful couple of days!
I can’t believe it’s over, two and a half years in the planning.
On Tuesday we had the workshop where 30 ladies
created the stunning Tilt quilt with Kaffe and Brandon.
The workshop was held at the Mecure Ballarat Hotel,
in their large convention room.

Lots of room for the ladies to stand back
and really look at their quilts.
I think you can see Brandon in the background
in the photo above, I didn’t get a proper photo.
So sorry Brandon, we all had lots of fun
with you too!

I have to say a big thank you to Pam (my mum)
for not only helping me organise the whole
event but for making the best designs wall ever.
Mum spent quite a number of hours hand dying
white flannelette to be a shade of grey.
She produced a number of different shades
but Kaffe thought they were the best he had seen!
Not a white design wall in sight!

Look at those quilts, aren’t they stunning.
You look lovely too Karlie.
One of the best parts of the day was hearing
what Kaffe had to say about every one’s
designs at the end of the day.
Lots of hot oranges, soothing blues and pond scum green,
were just some of Kaffe’s wonderful words when
describing the colours in the quilts.
Below are all the quilts from the day.
I love all the different versions, so
beautiful to see how they all came together.
Then on Wednesday night we had the
slide show and book signing.
300 ladies came to see this fascinating
man talk about his life, his quilts, his inspiration
and lots lots more. Such an interesting evening.
So thank you to both Kaffe and Brandon
for coming to visit Ballarat,
and reigniting my love for patchwork, design,
colour and fabric.
I also had to show you what Jen from Cake
made for Kaffe & Brandon.

Roman Glass Cupcakes!
You are a clever girl Jen,
and Kaffe & Brandon thought they were
delightful – just like fish eyes!
Less than a week to go and I’m getting excited!
We have sold out of lecture tickets, sorry to anyone who missed out.
I made a new handbag – The Marlo Bloom by Heather Bailey.
I even made it out of the same fabric on the cover.
Very easy, great instructions.
Thank you for all the wonderful donations!
88 comments @ $5 a go – thats pretty damn good.
Now to the winner.
I used a random number generator and the lucky number was 9.
Mari Viertel – Thank you for your generosity in raffling of these fabrics. I hope you raise a lot of money this way. I have made my contribution and the receipt number is 3171351.
Now we will just have to see how much money
the flood relief auctions and raffles have raised.
Toni will be doing a wrap up this evening!
I am sure you have all heard about the devastating floods in Queensland.
As I mentioned in my last post, Toni from Make it Perfect has rallied the
troops so to speak, and lots of wonderful bloggers are holding Auctions
and raffles on their blogs and facebook pages.
So to help I am holding a raffle / giveaway.
Thanks Jodie for the idea and rules!

I am offering these 3 fabric bundles as the prize – they will ALL go to the
person randomly chosen as the winner on Monday 24th,
now closes at 12 noon on Wednesday the 26th.
Each bundle contains 16 Fat 1/8ths – thats 2 mts of fabric,
6 mts in total!
So all I have to say is donate, donate, donate!
Toni from Make it Perfect is organising
an Auction Appeal for flood affected families.
Please head over to Toni’s blog and read all about it.
I have been working on this quilt for quite a few months,
and I am so glad it is finally finished.
The quilting is stunning, thanks Vicki Jenkin,
you did an amazing job.

Most of the fabrics are Kaffe Fassett,
with a few extra bright fabrics.

There are 400 Flying Geese in the borders.
Don’t think I will be sewing any of those
again in a hurry.
Vic Quilters will be selling tickets for this quilt
which will be drawn at the Vic Quilters Showcase 2011,
which is at the Craft & Quilt Show in July.
I made most of my Christmas present this year,
I try to every year but always run out of time.
A few sets of oven mits and pot holders (using insul bright), couple of pencils rolls (pattern from Last Minute Patchwork + Quilted gifts), some cute dollies and appliqued t-shirts. I also painted 4 canvases for my new nephew and I also made 3 Ooshka Babushka dolls.
( forgot to take a photos of the last two)
I have been spending my few days off making a quilt for
Angus (the new Nephew). It matches the canvases
I painted and I will take a pic of the whole room
once all finished.
